    May Senior Spotlight

    Each month I like to feature a "senior" member of the EFC family. This month I would like to share some tips for those just starting out, or as a reminder to those who have been exercising for awhile.

    • Choose activities that you enjoy and will stick with.
    • Check with your doctore before beginning any new exercise regime.
    • You may have particular risk factors that govern the type of exercise you choose. Schedule an appointment with one of our personal trainers if you have special and/or specific needs.
    • Setting goals by setting small objectives is essential. Begin with a few easily achieveable objectives and add on slowly.
    • Begin at your own level
    • Adjust objectives gradually as your fitness level enhances.
    • Aim to work out four or five times per week. In the beginning, two to three days per week would be the minimum. Remember that it will take some effort to achieve your goals. Once you have reached a certain level of fitness, it will be easier to maintain.
    • Remain motivated by keeping a log of your daily exercise, working out with a partner, chaging up classes and routines every 4 to 6 weeks, and by reviewing your initial objectives.
